“Food is fuel. Food is fun! Food is the best when it nourishes our body and soul.”
Carolyn’s Journey
What’s not to love about food? It’s delicious and fun! My favorite toy as a kid in the ’70s was my Easy-Bake Oven. I couldn’t get enough of watching the little light bulb cook up my delicious cakes and cookies. As I got older, I learned that adult-sized appliances can be just as fun. I will admit that I was probably way more excited than my daughters when I got them an Easy-Bake Over of their own in the mid-2000s.
Like many of you, I took a health class in high school, and when we got to the nutrition unit, I was fascinated. I was amazed to learn the science behind food and its impact on our health. It was then, at 15 years old, that I decided to study to become a dietitian nutritionist.
I got my RDN certification in 1993. Since becoming an RDN over 25 years ago, I have enjoyed working with clients in many different settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted-living centers, and group homes.
In 2016, I took a leap of faith and started my own business, Western Reserve Nutrition. I love what I do. Using a non-diet approach and practicing from a Health at Every Size® (HAES) perspective, I continue to focus on what matters to me: helping people discover the best ways to fuel their unique bodies to feel their best physically and mentally. I am committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for people of all sizes, shapes, gender identities, sexualities, races, religions, abilities, and backgrounds.
It would be my honor to be your ally as you learn to fuel your body to feel better.

Let’s Get Personal
My husband Tony and I have been married for over thirty years. We actually got married the same day I graduated from college!
We have three amazing adult children, and I just became a grandmother for the first time.
In my free time, I like to garden, travel, listen to live music & spend time with my family.
“My family and I personally deal with the chronic health issues that I specialize in. Being mindful of what we eat is one strategy we use to help manage our symptoms. It's not easy, but it is doable.”
